Is the Jimmy Houston Fishing app free?
Yes. The app is free to download and includes Today's Score Overview, Bass Shop access, one tracked lake, and up to five fish-log entries. Premium unlocks unlimited lakes, the detailed hourly activity graph, solunar and biometric insights, premium insight cards, and the Ask a Question fishing assistant.
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free gives you the daily Fishing Activity Score and the basics. Premium adds the detailed hourly activity graph, Moon & Solunar data, Activity & Biometrics insights, premium insight cards, the "Ask A Question" fishing assistant, and unlimited lakes and fish-log entries. How much does Premium cost?
Premium pricing is shown in the app and on our Pricing page. Pricing may vary by region and promotion; the in-app checkout always shows the current price before you confirm.
Which devices is the app available on?
The Jimmy Houston Fishing app is available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play. Links are at the top and bottom of every page on this site.
Which lakes and waters are supported?
You can track the lakes and waters you fish, and the app builds a profile for each one using local weather and water-temperature data. Coverage continues to expand — if a water you fish isn't fully detailed yet, the core Activity Score still works from local conditions.
What fish species does the app cover?
The app is built around bass fishing and the species most anglers target alongside bass. Jimmy's tips and the fishing assistant cover technique and presentation for a range of common freshwater species.
How does the Fishing Activity Score work?
The Fishing Activity Score distills lake conditions, weather, and solunar timing into a single 0–90 number labeled Sluggish, Normal, or Aggressive. It estimates how active fish are likely to be so you can decide when and where to go. Premium adds an hour-by-hour breakdown.
What is the Ask A Question fishing assistant?
The "Ask A Question" feature answers questions about technique, species, and conditions using a curated fishing knowledge base. It's designed to give practical, grounded answers rather than generic web results. The fishing assistant is a Premium feature.
Where does the app's data come from?
The Activity Score combines weather data, water-temperature readings, solunar (sun and moon) timing, and lake information. The fishing assistant draws on a curated fishing knowledge base. We refine these sources over time to keep the score and answers useful.
